Session Description:
This comprehensive course is designed for healthcare professionals, students, or anyone eager to learn the art and science of splinting. Participants will gain the knowledge and hands-on skills needed to independently create and apply splints for common upper extremity conditions such as wrist sprains, carpal tunnel syndrome, thumb injuries, and fractures
Objectives:
1. Participant will be able to identify 3 proper type of splint necessary for specific diagnosis of the upper extremity.
2. Participant will be able to correctly identify different splint materials and utilize different thermoplastic types to ensure maximum comfort for patients.
3. Participant will be able to independently fabricate 5 splints for common upper extremity conditions
About the Presenter:
Matt Figgins is born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. Has previously worked as a hand therapist in Arizona for a group of Hand Surgeons. Matt has been an OT for 5 years and a CHT for almost 3 years.
