Student Testimonies

The NOTA Scholarship empowers and encourages me to continue my education and do my best. I am grateful for the financial support NOTA has given me, as it has been a very challenging time this past year. I am ecstatic to know that I can count on my state organization to help me excel academically and professionally, share their resources, and be a part of my support system. Through their help, I attained educational materials that will prepare me for fieldwork this summer and allowed me to attend the AOTA INSPIRE conference. Thank you, NOTA!

--Angela Terencio

"Being awarded with one of NOTAs scholarships while pursuing my career as an OTA has provided me with significant support during this year of global pandemic. As I embark on my fieldwork journey, this scholarship gives me more financial support to take full advantage of this learning experience. It is really meaningful as a first-generation student to know Nevada's OT community is supporting me in this path of becoming an OT practitioner by helping me reach my professional goals in such challenging times."

--Magdalena Laurito

I am unbelievably grateful to receive a scholarship from the Nevada Occupational Therapy Association. This scholarship will provide me the unique opportunity to meet my academic and professional goals as I enter the field as a new occupational therapist.

I am a proud local Nevadan. While growing up in a small town in Northeastern Nevada, I watched my family, friends, and peers face significant obstacles to medical care. As a new practitioner, I hope to increase access to care and improve the well-being of Nevadans across the lifespan. I have initiated my doctoral capstone that will improve aging in place for rural Nevadans through telehealth. This scholarship will provide me the financial assistance I need to obtain an aging in place certification and improve occupational justice for individuals across our beloved state.
