Course Details: 

Join NOTA and Dr. Johnny Rider to complete your Mental Health First Aid Training. This course will be held in a virtual format. Learners will complete a self-paced online module and participate in 4.5-5.5 hours of instructor-led synchronous virtual class. The course will be held on November 30th, 2023 from 6-9 pm and December 7, 2023 from 6-9 pm. The registration fee includes the complete manual, online module, and online training. The certification is good for three years and can be renewed with an hour of training and additional fees. You will need to register at least two weeks in advance to be registered with the MHFA system and get access to the manuals. You must complete the online course prior to the virtual classes. We need at least 5 registrants to hold the class. We hope to see you on the screen!

• Understand how to interact with a person in crisis

Speaker Bio:

John V. Rider, PhD, MS, OTR/L, MSCS, is an Associate Professor at Touro University Nevada. He has been a Mental Health First Aid instructor for three years and teaches entry-level OTD mental health courses. He serves on the editorial board for the Occupational Therapy Mental Health Journal. He has also authored multiple chapters and special features for the new edition of Occupational Therapy in Mental Health: A Vision for Participation.
