Covid-19 Precautions: All attendees must bring proof of vaccination or submit to a rapid Covid test.  This is a Touro University Nevada policy.

Objectives:

1. Participants will recognize evidence-based practice based on clinical questions and literature exploration.

2. Participants will differentiate levels of evidence and risk of bias of specific research studies within a systematic review project.

3. Participants will identify the effectiveness of specific areas of occupational therapy intervention.

Description:

The Occupational Therapy Systematic Review Presentation at Touro University Nevada consists of projects spanning different areas of practice. OTD students developed a clinical question and searched 3-5 databases and hundreds of articles for the highest evidence of specific occupational therapy intervention.

Participants are free to visit with the presenters and poster at their own pace. They will gain a sense of the systematic review process and specific findings related to the rigor and limitation of these interventions. Participants can to earn up to 2 hours CEU.

  • Leisure activities for adults with PTSD
  • Conservative management techniques for cumulative trauma disorders
  • Sensory-based interventions to promote mental health in elementary-aged children
  • Health promotion for postpartum depression
  • Interactive technology devices for ADLs of older adults
  • Language translator service to increase the quality of care
  • Virtual reality neurorehabilitation
  • Self-management for individuals with CVA
  • Group physical activity on the social participation of children with developmental disabilities
  • Health-literacy-sensitive self-management intervention for people with osteoarthritis
  • Virtual reality to improve upper extremity coordination for people with Parkinson’s
  • Universal home design for people with disabilities
  • Coping skills for people with maladaptive behaviors
  • Artistic activities for children with developmental disabilities
  • Self-regulation strategies for adults living with cancer
